On sidney sheldon

Then i fell in love with the books of Sidney Sheldon. He was introduced to me by me schoolmate when i was in college. before sheldon i was completing the novels of agatha christie and arthur conan doyle. and sarah paretsky. and v.c. andrews series too. see i was a sucker for novel books. what makes sheldon the greatest novelist for me is the way he creates his plot. when you read the story its like you are watching a good movie. you are moved. aroused. enchanted. when the victim revenges you feel how the protagonist feels. when she hides you feel like hiding too. that is how he writes. and i can honestly say i cannot put the book down until i finished the whole novel. am i crazy? yeah. i am. but i would rather read good novel books than read something else that teach you how to skillfully kill another human being without being caught or how to stash away millions of dollars to some far away island banks without being detected. you know. how to cheat with your girlfriends, wives, etc. and i am veering away from the topic (again, sigh).

if tomorrow comes is the best i have read so far. well i just downloaded ebook and read "the homecoming" by dan walsh. feel good book. makes you smile. and cry. its like watching a nicholas sparks novel turned into movie. that's all.

My First Ink

The finished product of my artist.
Shot from my mobile. not that clear but you will still see the details. and it is still swelling since its just after 5 mins of completion.
And the fats showed too.
Half-way
Outline. First hour of excruciating pain. I am not exagerrating. Its like a thousand needles pricking you at the same time. Like a blade cutting your skin. I have withstood it coz i need it to be done for the sake of having it.

It took me like two years to have this. I have waited that long. Why? Sometimes i do have apprehensions. Thinking twice if im gonna do it, sometimes i have spent already the money i am supposed to pay for this. But yesterday was a sort of epiphany. Something whispered in my ears and say "just do it, no fear" hahaha. Nike+No Fear played the part. It was worth it. I mean the waiting, the pain and the penny. Well spent really. Now i should have to learn to have this for the rest of my entire life. I cannot erase the 5 hours of pain and labor anymore. Well maybe i could add more in the future but for now, i have something that i was longing for a long time and i just did it. Next, trip to Europe. Woohooo.

On reading and education

i love reading. i thank my parents for providing us good education. i say good not best because saying best means to everyone being sent to the most expensive and known school/university. so what does education and this love for reading is all about?

when i was young i was really not into reading. as a kid i grew up as a normal crazy naughty hyper kid. well my parents tolerated that to some extent. then one day, my dad brought home some English novel books. the covers were really interesting then. the only books i knew in those times were my elementary textbooks. i was curios i guess. i already forgot but as i poured pages into pages of those books i started reading them. i can really and actually read words then but understanding the story is not yet getting into me. remember i was young. and then pages over pages i turned them. just blabbering every words. i haven't thought of myself reading silently then. so i finished a chapter after an hour or so. i was happy then. i have forgotten how it goes at that time since only fragments of my memories are just coming back but the first 50 english novel books i read, the unabridged thick webster english dictionary is by my side when i encountered some words not familiar at that time. my grammar was improving and so was my vocabulary. i have completed reading the 10 volumes of The Bible Stories and went on to read it to my youngest sibling to her delight.

i realized that when it comes to something like reading, they only teach you the basic in school. its up to you if you will crave to learn more and expand your horizon. reading opens up a pandora box for me. the knowledge. and yearning to learn and know more. it opens up your mind. you get to know the ideas and views of others. the philosophical and theoretical and scientific explanations are there to some of your questions if you only know how to read (and do some research). and at that time internet was just a baby.

i do not know my motivation(s) why i really loved reading. it just transported me to a different level. it makes me happy. and one thing for sure my communication skills were improved.

education. i valued my education a lot. i was sent to a catholic/exclusive/expensive school where i met some talented persons (instructors, classmates, school workers etc). the application of knowledge is best applied through human interactions and experiences. otherwise i could have just stayed in a cave. and really, good education provides better future in life. the reality is that most companies nowadays checks first how good one's education is before giving them a chance to work with them. its crazy but its true. true enough that not all good schools produce bright people. there are unknown school where education system is fantastic. but it all boils down to one. the person. the person who learns and want good education. one who has motivation and good ambition in life. because for that person if a good school is not possible and financial problem is at hand he will find a way. he knows that there are other ways. he knows because he might have read it somewhere, learn it from someone or it just dawned on him.

this is really a complicated matter to discuss but i am just saying my opinion. this may need a lot of pages to write really but i always like simplicity in everything. and this topic just came out of my mind from nowhere. by the way the book cover i posted is the first book i read. which made me like courtroom drama eventually making me fall in love with mr. grisham's work.

My new Samsung Galaxy Tab

First off i love Apple. I really do. I like the iPad and iPad2. But liking alone is not enough. i need to want want it. And that was what i felt when i saw the ads for the Galaxy Tab. I need to have it. But financially wise the first few months it came out was not so inviting. But anyway to cut the story short after a few months of waiting, we met. And we hit it off the first time. It was like a love at first sight. Hahahaha. Just kidding. I am like a kid having a new toy. Its just me don't worry. I am just happy that i got this and that's it.

Apps are great. And free mind you. Games and some apps i really need coz i like to plan a lot and write some notes and stuff. and movies. i like err, love reading so i downloaded tons of ebooks via kobo and kindle. And videos from Youtube is easy to download and save.

Note: no animals nor another human life were affected positively or negatively in any ways when i got this. even my credit card were untouched thank you.

i'm a happy camper.. and shallow.

50th Law

I recently purchased this book out of curiosity actually. The cover is black and the title is really intriguing. I thought its another law type book, you know the one being read by law student (stupidity crept in me). Anyway without peeking inside nor reading the summary at the back i went to the cashier and paid the book. Little did i know that this is the kind of book i was looking for. Trying hard to be fearless for some good reasons. This book has a lot of ideas which made me realize as a person that i can throw away all my fears and the only one that i should fear about is my own self not realizing my dreams, potential and become successful in life. Death should not be feared. I want to add more but one should buy and read this book instead to know what i am blabbering about.

Amazing

Its just amazing. I just got out of my "full of turmoil" world. I now realized that the fears that i had was just in my head really. As Buddha saying goes:

"It is a man's own mind, not his enemy that lures him to evil ways."

Need i say more? I was so chickened out about one thing and up until now i have not decided on going about it because of the consequences i may have in the future but i am about to get there. I will post in the future when i have successfully did it. Surprise. Smiles. The chuckles..

New Gift

Being the conceited and selfish called myself, i gifted me something i was craving for months now. A reward for being a bully (someone said), shit head, and stubborn this is what i deserve. Now its just a peek. I will post the unboxing on the next post. For the meantime i will enjoy this new baby to my heart's delight. Now don't start me with finding a love interest as personal information is not part of my conceited blogging world. its just there okay? As i have mentioned in the past, what i write and share in my blog is just 5% of my life. Secrets? No i do not have any secrets thank you. I share only what i want to share. That's all.
